CA VA? OUI, CA VA!
Ca Va? Oui, Ca Va! are the amalgamation of two English, as may or may not be obvious from our choice of pseudonym, musical minds. Two musical minds who have years of musical experience together but have recently been pulled apart by their individual routes through this thing called life.
What is meant by this pretentious drivel is that we now live miles from one another and so rarely get the chance to compose and record our music in each other's presence. Therefore, we have worked on it separately in our respective homes and shared ideas via e-mail, building them up into the songs you can hear from this page. Bi-bedroom recording, you might say.
Sometimes the music begins with one of us and ends with the other; sometimes it begins with one and ends with the same, after being bandied around between us.
During this first leg of the project, Ca Va? Oui, Ca Va! decided to use rhythm without a rhythm section, so to speak. A 'No Drum Policy'. This meant using anything but drums and a drum kit to create the rhythms and beats heard in our music. We actually have nothing against drums, drummers or drumming but thought it would be a nice experiment and has resulted in some interesting sounds and ideas. Keeping an active musical imagination is very important to us both.
