SPIRO
Since their formation in 1993, Bristol based acoustic instrumental band Spiro have worked steadily building an individual sound and a strong fan base. Drawing on influences such as Steve Reich, Michael Nyman and The Penguin Caf Orchestra the band place characteristics of minimal classical into a instrumental four piece. The result is described by 'The Scotsman' as 'Gorgeous melodies and hypnotic grooves, achieving a magically dynamic equilibrium of irridescent vitality and rigorous technical precision cinematic grandeur and intense emotional impact - from aching melancholy to anthemic exultation leavened with a sprinkling of mischief'.
