TWO MAN TING
TwoManTing is the duo project of Jon Lewis and Jah-man Aggrey of Le Cod Afrique and Kultural Kontractors - improvised Afro Jazz and pop using live guitar loops, percussion and vocals. The duo formed in 2004 and have become firm festival favourites, performing at Glastonbury, Whitby Musicport, Whychwood, Secret Garden Party, Sunrise Celebration, Waveform Project, Small World, Big Green Gathering Broadstairs Folk Week, Off the Tracks Festival, Shambala, etc. We've recently supported Mali legends Tinariwen and the amazing Muntu Valdo.
Jah moved to the UK from Sierra Leone in 1985 and toured with Kultural Kontractors appearing many times at WOMAD and becoming artist in residence in Glastonbury. He has worked with Ayodele Scott (Baka Beyond) and Adesose Wallace (Soothsayers). Teaching and touring Britain, Jah joined up with Jon in Le Cod Afrique in 1999.
Jon is a classically trained pianist and violinist, having master-classes with Sir Peter Maxwell-Davies and the Coull Quartet. He took up guitar in his teens and has performed across Europe with his other projects, Le Cod Afrique and Manos Puestas Quartet, including performances at WOMAD, Glastonbury and Montreux Jazz Festival. Jon has also recorded session work for Banco de Gaia.
