DR MOODY

Dr Moody's diverse career in the music industry over the last 20 years has progressed from his roots of DJing into running a professional production and mastering studio working with some of the top bands and production houses recording, producing and creating original score and Foley. He has worked globally only recently returning from South Africa after setting up Surgery Music UK in Cape Town.

Known as the bad boy bootlegger from Bristol, Dr Moody's dj sets always feature exclusive remixes done in real time with the doctor using vinyl, cdjs, laptops, samplers and fx units, bringing a fresh vital progressive sound in time, on time, every time.

As a dj his career spans from the last three years in S.A back to his ten year UK residency for Blowpop; voted the UKs number one club night by Mixmag. Playing monthly to 1800+ crowds he has played alongside Blowpops massive quarterly residents:- The Freestylers, Stanton Warriors, The Fingerlicken crew and the Scratch Perverts. Dr Moody and The Blowpop Allstars featuring Mc Jakes have headlined festivals and club nights across the globe with outstanding performances to crowds in excess of 20K at, The Bristol festival, Glastonbury, the Glade and The Big Chill and New York's A.T.P.

South Africa saw Dr Moody play at all the major dance clubs and events, including headline sets for. E.S.P, Carfax, Sound Squad Revolutions, Oppikkoppi, Bang Bang, Sensation S.A, Earthdance, The Mystic Boer, and he was resident dj for Superstylin at Fiction night club. His most recent collaboration with Nick e Louder in the guise of the Filthy Muthas took S.A by storm as a dynamic act of dj's and sexy dancers. The group headlined a string of successful gigs across the country and had huge successes with their remix of the 80s classic 'addicted to love'. Their recent dj mix received a record number of downloads from sites across the globe.

With over 20 years experience working in the studio his production has been respected across the globe and danced to by thousands. Dr Moody recently ran the very successful Surgery Music UK studios in Cape Town working with South African artists such as South African Music Awards winner Clair Phillips, as well as Farrell Adams and Mix and Blend. His sound design and recording work gained him the reputation of skillful V.O recording and mastering, and the contract with Bourniorno South Africa on all their brands mobile entertainment TVC campaigns. Other TV works include, recording and producing Foley for the sabc3 program Milan and Kie, Mnet's drama Ella Blue, B.M.W and Courvoisier liquor.

The airwaves recently underwent a mutiny with the hugely popular pirate fm cape town this station had runaway success and featured the doctor as the stations head producer and one of the host djs.
