“Antigone, the daughter of Oedipus, defies the rule of law and buries the body of her brother. When brought to the King, her uncle Creon, Antigone refuses to compromise her principles in order to save her own life and the love of those around her. Based on Sophocles' tragedy, Jean Anouilh's'Antigone' explores how powerful an individual's resistance can be in the face of state control; a theme as resonant today as it was to the original audience in Nazi controlled France during the Second World War. The production will be using the traditional Greek devices of choral speaking and theatrical masks to help to convey the play's powerful themes of love, loyalty, power and resistance.”

“At the slightly later date of November, we will have over 25 hoppy beers on cask and keg, from some amazing breweries from around the UK. Everything from dark to pale ales will be available, but all share one thing in common... An abundance of hops.”

“Up here in Hellfire Video Club Towers, we love a good character actor. The kind of actor that effortlessly exudes charisma, gets the interesting roles and doesn't have to plan their career trajectory based on being really good looking. Hollywood cinema of the 1970's was full of them - and tonight we're celebrating one of our favourites: ELLIOTT GOULD.”

“Ben Jordan can best be classified as a 21st century bard, or a modern troubadour. For years Ben has traveled, listening, learning & playing. His voyage has taken him to several musical hot beds (including New York City, Nashville, New Orleans, San Francisco, Boulder, CO, London Dublin & Prague) where he had the privilege of befriending some rising stars, and established vets, including Derek Trucks, Soulive, Adam MacDougall (The Black Crowes & Chris Robinson Brotherhood).”

“It's been said that laughter is the best medicine and we firmly believe this is true! A good session of full on laughing not only takes you out of the stresses of everyday life, but can also have an impact on your mood over the next few days.”
