“Already recognised through her work with Dakhla and Lady Nade, saxophonist Sophie Stockham put this band together to create a context to explore the contemporary art-jazz approaches of John Zorn, the Tin Hat Trio, Medeski/Martin/Wood and other US experimentalists. The quintet includes the adventurous tenor sax of Jake McMurchie, a highly creative foil to Stockham's exploratory alto. Sophie Stockham - alto sax, Jake McMurchie - tenor sax, Joe Wilkins - guitar, Greg Cordez - bass and Matt Brown - drums. The music is an eclectic mix of contemporary ideas.”

“Hoorah! The highly entertaining former Mandibles pianist Dan Inzani's new project is based on'that wobbly Ethiopian funk music we all love to groove to', and it features Robbie Burges playing the vibes - surely the coolest sound of all? The 7-piece line-up play classics from Mulatu Astatke and others as well as original numbers, and there's Afrobeat, jazz and funk all thrown into the mix.”

“The Longest Johns is a four-man, a capella folk music band, born out of a mutual love of traditional folk songs and shanties. They rock maritime songs alongside the more unusual and less traditional folk tunes. All with a hearty cheer and a row-ho-ho!”
