“Devoted to classic reggae grooves as they are, this Brighton collective nonetheless keep their sound fresh with added flavours. Elements of Afrobeat and European mestizo sit nicely in the mix and it all adds up to danceability with style.”

“Since launching in August 2014 they have impressed and excited audiences with their individual approach to the blues. The Husky Tones vibrant blues crosses a wide range of emotions, from raucous dance music that celebrates pleasure and success to songs of lament, injustice, lost loves and longing for a better life. Their unique sound begins with the singing drummer Victoria Bourne whose soulful, passionate voice and relentless drumming grooves drive the performances her voice expresses the pure raw emotion of the blues variously described as'spellbinding', 'haunting', 'a voice to die for, ' 'stunning and impossible to ignore or forget' by Buxton Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe Festival.”

“Folk Noir Special: four of the finest young singer-songwriters from both sides of the Scottish/English border - Alasdair Roberts, Emily Portman, Lucy Farrell and Rachel Newton - have delved into the obscure byways of traditional balladry to unearth dark and quirky narratives of murder, hauntings and worse, as heard on their debut album'At Our Next Meeting'. With the songs arranged for solo voice, four-part harmony and a collection of instruments that includes musical saw, this promises to be a stark and spine-chilling evening of folk noir at its bleakest and best.”
