For our third in the Label Season THE DROP brings you one of the most exciting and innovative new labels around DEATHPROOF RECORDINGS.
What started as idle talk amongst friends, quickly turned into a promising collaboration. With the broadest of mind sets, encompassing many genres, Death Proof was born. The label is now home to the ever-present tech maestro Benjamin Vial. Basement-dwelling, techno fiends The Omega Men & Machine Electrique and new wonky kids on the block Creatures Of Habit. They've also brought fresh-off-the-plate producers in the shape of Ettica, Anthony James & Frankie Ferrell and stalwarts of the Techno, House, Electro & Breaks scenes like Lee Coombs, The Loops Of Fury, Dopamine & Gella to name a few. And with a'Best New Label' nomination under their belt courtesy of BREAKSPOLL 2012, this night is proving to be something of a celebration!
Heading up the DPR room we bring you one of The DROP's own, REKTCHORDZ, who in remixing ANTHONY JAMES stunning anthem"Brazil", released on the imprint, achieved a MIXMAG tune of the month to sit amongst his many accolades of being one of the most in demand and consistent acts in Electro House and Tech-Funk. Bringing up the rear is a fresh face to the label, KRIS MEJA, his promise lies in his productions, throbbing, growling techno aplenty! Label co-owner PAUL BLANDFORD, one half of THE OMEGA MEN, will be laying down his typical style of techno, if their set at the recent FRACTURE night is anything to go by, prepare to end up a sweaty mess! Another label co-owner, MATTHEW MILES, joins the line up to bring the wonk, tech-house and the more melodic side of dubstep are his penchant so expect the perfect party starter.
For The Drop we have MODEL 101 who's array of releases are ever present in the sets of all breaks heads and especially for THE DROP he is giving away limited copies of his new album.
And finally Element Sound System, celebrating their 3rd birthday, are giving you pure party vibes with a mash up of breaks, electro, dubstep, dnb, jungle, reggae, dancehall... a general badass bass bonanza!! Some of the best producers and DJ's we've come across over the last 3 years all in one place and headed up by the ledgend - Wragg. The head manl Atmosphere Recordings and the like named club night, Wragg has played international tours as well as massive events such as Westfest and Fantazia alongside his counterpart log:one (now going under the name of Digital Self after a change in musical direction). For us however, he will bringing a bag full of pure jungle classics - pure skank material :)
