Weekend Workshop to share LAUGHTER, INNOCENCE and CLOWN-CURIOSITY-LOGIC
COME Discover Your Clown, explore your UNIQUE PLAYFULNESS and how to use MOVEMENT, RHYTHM, OBJECTS and VOCALISATION to create the foundation for a CLOWN SKETCH.
The wonderful thing about clowning is the barrier between the interior and exterior is thin …. non-existent. We can look to children as the best teachers - take the lollipop away, it’s gone forever, they cry - replace it with a flower,,mesmerising colours and smell, they smile So re-awaken your own child…...
Share LAUGHTER, INNOCENCE and CLOWN-CURIOSITY-LOGIC.
We’ll approach the state of clown as both therapeutic and performative.
Would you like to inspire the muscle of your imagination? Would you like to feel the spontaneity of disinhibition? During this weekend workshop we will explore the following:
Expressive movement with the body
Exercises to access your unique playfulness
Innocence and presence - responsiveness to the immediate environment
Deepening your relationship to your clown through play
Using rhythm and sound
Objects, their movement and character
Structuring the steps of a dramatic build
There will be a mixture of group work, pair work and one-to-one feedback throughout the day.
Perhaps the essential truth of the clown is that honesty is funny.
The workshops will be led by Deborah Ward, here is a little more about her and some quotes from previous workshop participants:
