As Autumn falls upon us, let us gather around our cauldrons in community and whip up a creamy delight, infused with nature’s medicines, to nourish our skin and enhance its protective capacities.

We are taught that our skin is the barrier between us and the outside world, but as our largest organ, it also has the incredible ability to absorb plant medicine through our pores, connecting us to nature in everyday but powerful ways. We’ll explore how incorporating nature-connected rituals of self-care can have rippling effects…

Whilst skincare has been heavily gendered and capitalised on, this workshop will teach you how to make your own vegan, petroleum free, affordable moisturiser using foraged elements adaptable according to the seasons and your needs. Using medicinal plants which have been grown and harvested in local green spaces, you’ll be able to imbibe the powers of flowers all autumn and winter long.

We’ll share the tricks of extracting plant essences, emulsification, explain hydrosols, infused oils and learn about some of the therapeutic topical applications of common plants you can find locally.

We’d like to thank Rhizome Clinic for generously allowing us to adapt their recipe and share their medical herbalist expertise with our community.

We aim to create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere that fosters wellbeing. We’ll open the workshop sharing a foraged tea, an optional nature-inspired grounding exercise and because this is Nature Queerdos…there may also be snacks!
