gig
on Saturday 26th July. The event starts at 17:30.
5.30-6.30: Clube do choro Bristol will host a Brazilian music roda, where players typically sit in a circle, and pass the tune around amongst them, taking turns, so it's the ultimate collaborative music making experience. Good instrumentalists who want to join in can do so on some numbers, and everybody else sits or stands around the edge of the circle and listens or dances.
This is really appealing music that the whole family will enjoy.
Then... interval with Jamaican food for sale....Then
7.30-9.30pm Flamenco Raices
Flamenco dancer Lourdes Fernandez will dance to the music of a live quartet
of voice, violin, percussion and guitar. Flamenco charms all kinds of audiences, with its passionate and exotic blend of music and dance, but it is also a very technical art due to its complex rhythmic and visual language. Flamenco dancer Lourdes Fernández and her Company present "Raíces", which draws on, but departs from traditional flamenco in search of an eclectic style of music and dance inspired by Folk, Andalusian Copla, Jazz and other styles.
