SANAM + D/RK HUMR at Strange Brew

A gig held at Strange Brew on Wednesday 3rd December. The event starts at 19:00.

Blending psych, krautrock, jazz, and experimental noise with Egyptian song and Arabic poetry, SANAM is a powerful force at the cutting edge of Middle Eastern avant-rock.

The Beirut-based sextet—featuring members of Kinematik, Postcards, and Al Rahel al Kabir—formed in 2021 and quickly gained acclaim for their arresting, genre-defying sound. Their debut album Aykathani Malakon was recorded live amid Lebanon’s upheaval, channeling intensity and mysticism through raw instrumentation and haunting vocals.

With glowing praise from The Guardian, The Wire, and BBC Radio 6, SANAM’s live performances—captured at Café Oto and festivals like Le Guess Who? and Roskilde—have confirmed their reputation as one of the most vital experimental bands of the moment.
