Avona Puppet Workshops
Join our creative workshops to craft the Avona puppet!
We are a Bristol-based, female-led art collective who want to capture the energy of the River Avon and animate her in the form of the Avona Goddess puppet. This puppet will raise awareness of water pollution, engage our community and become a voice of change for the river.

We are running a series of creative workshops to help bring the Avona puppet to life. Join one (or more!) of our workshops to help craft the puppet! No puppet-making experience necessary, just a willingness to be creative and get stuck in.

All our workshops operate on a pay-what-you-can ticketing system, with a suggested cost of £12 to help cover the costs of materials and facilitation.

On Friday 25th July we will develop the scale drawings of the puppet and begin crafting the willow frame. On Wednesday 30th July we will finish crafting the willow frame and start painting the face. On Friday 8th August we will create the mechanisms, arms and start on the fabrics to dress the puppet. On Monday 11th August we will finish assembly of the puppet and dress her.

Morning workshops will run from 9am-midday. Afternoon workshops will run from 2pm-5pm. All workshops will take place at Puppet Place, BS1 6UT
