Weekly tutored portrait drawing class
Learn expressive portrait drawing techniques in pencil and charcoal through exercises lead by artist Ruby Scott-Geddes (www.rubyscottgeddes.com).
Each week, we'll learn through different guided exercises. These exercises will help us to break out of conventions in drawing:
- Re-learn how to see and understand the human face, untangling what we think we already know, going beyond just using lines in our drawing, and recognising more of this 3D form through light, shadow and tone
- Learn how to translate this way of seeing onto the page, conveying the character of the sitter as seen by the drawer
- Develop a more expressive yet accurate quality in your drawing
