A
event
on Saturday 21st October. The event starts at 20:00.
In this remarkable piece of visual theatre and object manipulation, Salustri uses wind, heat and acetone to dance a mundane and vilified material to life.
Part science experiment, part sound bath, part polystyrene firework display, Materia is an immersive, multi-sensory meditation on creativity, invention and destruction.
A huge success at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe and the London International Mime Festival, we’re thrilled to welcome Materia to Bristol for the first time for Circus City.
Now based in Berlin, Italian born Andrea Salustri trained as a juggler in Rome before studying dance and choreography in Berlin. He is a Laureate of the next European Circus Label.

“Exquisitely beautiful, strangely moving hour of object theatre.”
Three Weeks, Edinburgh
What we love about Materia:
Part science experiment, part soundscape, part polystyrene firework display, Materia is juggling and dance like you have never seen it before. Puppetry with wind, heat and acetone. Go if you enjoy a show that builds from subtle interactions into a full blown immersive audio visual experience.
