In the Magical Universe (MU), Bristol based artist Louis Hunter presents a new body of work spanning sculpture, installation and works on paper. The works utilise a combination of both fabricated elements as well as elements sourced from industrial and machinic processes. The body of work engages with the complexities of advanced capitalism, not as a fixed or easily defined system, but as a fluid, often elusive force that shapes our realities from the outside. The exhibition delves into alternative modes of exploring and interpreting these forces —moving beyond the rational and empirical. Drawing upon polytheism, mysticism, and the transcendental function of imagination, the work gestures toward other modes of understanding, offering a space where retro-chronic processes and the intangible play a central role in the decoding
of capitalisms imminence. The show will be presented across two floors at 17 Midland Road, BS2 0JT, and run from the 10th to the 14th of July 2025. Open 10 - 5.
