HHCS - Dan Lish + Andrew Emery double book launch at 808 Cafe - Bristol
Upfront tickets are available with or without books!

A event on Friday 26th April. The event starts at 19:00.

Hip Hop Coffee Shop have teamed up with Velocity Press to offer an amazing double book launch from two very influential names within the UK's Hip-Hop scene in very different ways! This is an intimate event at 808 Cafe in Bristol, with very limited tickets.

Dan Lish is one of the UK's finest illustrators, who has worked with the likes of Wu Tang Clan, De La Soul and Cypress Hill to name but a few. He is launching Ego Strip: Book 1, which features an incredible array of sketches that he initially started as a daily practice, and turned into a worldwide sensation. The initial crowd funded version of this book sold out instantly, so Velocity Press have worked with Dan to develop it into the first part of a series of books.

Andrew Emery has long been a respected name within Hip-Hop / music journalism. Having contributed to Hip Hop Connection - one of the scene's bastions of music journalism, he has amassed an impressive portfolio spanning publications including The Guardian, Mojo, Arena, Q, Loaded, The Word and The Face, alongside working with Dan Lish on Ego Trip. His book - Write Lines: Adventures In Rap Journalism - is an homage and exploration into the scene we know and love, from anecdotes to learnings, this book is a brilliant read from cover to cover.

The event will feature a talk with both Dan and Andrew, led by Vice beats, leading into an audience Q+A. There will be Dj sets from HHCS's residents DJ Grinz and DJ Mutley, and after the Q+A both writers will be signing books, alongside being able to view a collection of Dan's illustrations.

This is not to be missed. It's set to be a special night for lovers of Hip-Hop, illustration and journalism a like.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult over 21yrs, 1:1 ratio)
