on Wednesday 1st December. The event starts at 19:00.
Homer to Hip Hop is an action-packed, entertaining and educational whistle-stop tour through the ages of Spoken Word. As we enter the post-COVID comeback, meet the artistic revivals that have remade the world from the bottom up.
CoResist presents former National Poetry Slam Champion, Pete “the Temp” Bearder, on the hometown leg of his national tour. In Homer to Hip Hop, Pete brings to life the poetic movements that have shaped history. Find out why wordsmiths have always been vilified, feared and revered, from the ballad singers and Beat poets, to the icons of dub, punk and hip hop.
This evening will feature special guest performances from a variety of local spoken word artists, and a Q&A on spoken word and its role in remaking the world anew.
CoResist is a Bristol-based collective pioneering transformative arts.
