Kid Hyena at Xpress Festival at All Inn, Fishponds
See event details

A gig on Friday 15th May. The event starts at 18:00.

Kid Hyena

Rebel-rousing songs from the backstreets of Barcelona. This must-see, genre-defying act combines fiery percussion with wild and visceral rhythm tap dance beats and hard-hitting all-to-the-floor tunes that will get you moving and singing from the off.

As seen at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Boomtown and top venues across the South-West. They'll be playing songs from their latest album It Takes Courage To Be Happy.

Pilot Scheme

Earworms, mind treats, and all-important info about Mind Your Music from the Bristol story-song guy.

Big However

Fans of offbeat, catchy, observational music will swoon at this Bristol-based art-folk-garage-indie-collective. Using discarded musicians sourced locally. Melodic, intelligent, yet unintelligent popular music. Non-iconic & sustainable. "Poignant".

Cello, mandolin, guitars, bass, drums, trumpet and soaring harmonies.

Slippery Slope

Slippery Slope induces a right old shimmy and a-shake from the tips of your fingers to the tips of your toes. Festival favourites for 13 years, they take in everything from Klezmer to Britney along with some unlikely surprises.

Expect original songs and a fair sharing of get-you-up-on-your-feet versions of Misirlou (Pulp Fiction main theme), Irving Berlin's Putting on the Ritz, and the lovely Amelie waltz by Yann Tiersen.

Aisling O'Shea

There is beauty and poetry in Aisling's voice. She is a folk singer and songwriter living and playing music in Bristol.

Her music is inspired by a deep connection to her Irish heritage and her experience as a daughter and granddaughter of Irish immigrants.

Five acts back-to-back spreading a little joy as the weekend breaks at Xpress Fest, Bristol's newest, week-long grassroots music and comedy festival. Free entry, donations encouraged: raising money for mental health support groups including Bristol-based Mind Your Music. Access to the event is by stairs,

Entry requirements: no age restrictions
