Alex Taylor at Alma Tavern & Theatre

A gig on Sunday 2nd September. The event starts at 19:00.

Our Sunday Sessions return, this month with music from loop pedal maestro Alex Taylor!

- - -

Alex is a UK based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumental loop pedal artist. Already compared by reviewers to the likes of Bill Withers, John Martyn, Damien Rice and Jeff Buckley, Alex is one of the shining lights of the acoustic scene and a troubadour of world-class standing.

His dynamic solo shows are filled with energetic beats and intense and passionate vocal delivery, paired with dextrous and original acoustic guitar with a creative use of pedals and loops.

Drawing on varied influences from a wide musical spectrum, Alex’s unique style splices elements of soul, nu-folk and electronica to place his powerful, shape‐shifting voice firmly in the spotlight.

A festival favourite, Alex recently headlined the BBC stage at Bristol’s Harbourside Festival. With recent appearances at the Cambridge Folk Festival and Cheltenham Jazz Festival, tonight he brings his unique sound to the Alma!

Music starts at 7pm and is free to all, with donations warmly appreciated.
Plus, fresh stone-baked pizzas served all night!
