Raise the Bar: Writing Workshop | Spring 2026
A new, quarterly poetry workshop at Arnolfini for writers of all levels of experience, facilitated by a member of the Raise the Bar team. You’ll be guided through gentle writing prompts to generate new work, engage in lively discussions about contemporary poetry and craft, and meet other poets in the community.
Our Spring workshop will be led by RTB’s founder and director, Danny Carlo Pandolfi.
Whether you are new to writing poetry, or whether you are an experienced/published writer, all are welcome to join our affordable workshops, with tickets available for just £5. 15 places are available (first come first served, advanced booking essential).

Danny Carlo Pandolfi is a poet, writer, rapper and cultural producer based in Bristol. His poems have recently been published in Aesthetica, Propel Magazine, and he has work forthcoming in The New Statesman. He was Highly Commended for the 2025 Forward Prize for Best Single Poem - Performed. He has been featured on major channels such as ITV News, TedX Talks, and BBC 1Xtra, and performed at iconic venues such as Ministry of Sound, 02 Academy Bristol and Roundhouse London. He is a former UK Battle Rap Champion on Don’t Flop, and his music has topped the iTunes Hip Hop Chart. His work explores the crossovers between forms associated with traditional poetry and contemporary hip-hop. He is Artistic Director of Lyra - Bristol Poetry Festival.
