A
gig
held at Arnolfini
on Saturday 7th November. The event starts at 14:00.
A relaxed and friendly session with writer Lizzie Lloyd, using Chantal Joffe’s current exhibition as a jumping off point to explore creative writing on art.
We’ll explore the work of some writers that have been influential to Joffe, such as Gertrude Stein, Susan Sontag and Olivia Lang. We’ll discuss how these writers use words to communicate the felt experience of looking at artworks in unconventional and memorable ways. And we’ll use a series of hands-on exercises to create our own written responses to Joffe’s paintings.
All materials provided.
Safety measures:
Maximum group size is 10.Everyone will be asked to wear face masks unless exempt. This will be a small group of 10 adults in the Light studio where everyone can comfortably socially distance whilst enjoying each others company.
