Raise the Bar's March show features a Bristol Poetry festival special. Featuring comedy-rap-jazz from HARRY AND CHRIS, as seen on Russell Howard Hour and Edinburgh Fringe sell-out favourites.
We're very excited to also welcome two poets, award-winning performer Shruti Chauhan and Bristol based talent Stephen Lightbown!
After two sell-out shows to start the year, we're so excited to bring yet another show full of variety, energy and talent.
There is also an exclusive Bristol City Poet workshop with Vanessa Kisuule before the show as part of the festival. Limited tickets available here:

“Out-loud reactions are encouraged...shaking off traditional theatre etiquette” - Bristol 24/7
We are the nation's favourite Comedy-Rap-Jazz duo. Having spent our whole lives as 'Harry' and 'Chris', we've performed together ever since we went to the same school and Chris won the battle of the bands competition while Harry was awarded 'most potential'. After a fateful week in Texas we took the plunge and became 'Harry and Chris', and have never looked back, until we had to write this bio. Welcome to our website. Feel free to check out our previous shows, upcoming gigs and anything else we can think of by clicking various links, or sign up to our mailing list below. If you are booking us for a gig you can find up to date images and bio as well as reviews at the bottom of this page, or if you're feeling really bold feel free to copy and paste this. Much love x

Stephen was born in Blackburn, Lancashire. In 1996, aged 16, he experienced a life changing accident whilst sledging in the snow and is now paralysed from below the waist. In 2016, twenty years after the accident, he started writing poetry about his life as a wheelchair user.
He has since spoken at events across the UK in venues such as the Watershed, Arnolfini and Tobacco Factory in Bristol, the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool and the Poetry Café and Rich Mix in London, and dreams of reading in his Northern accent in New York. Whilst many poetry nights are not accessible to Stephen and his wheelchair, he aims to make his poetry accessible to all.
In March 2019 Stephen’s first poetry collection, Only Air, will be published by Burning Eye Books.
