Half East Records are a London based collective that celebrate and platform ESEA (East and Southeast Asian) artists and creatives, bringing together the sounds of their roots, creating a fusion of 'East meets West'.
And so, they journeyed to the West for their debut at the Art Club, Bristol, Bringing an all ESEA line up on May 11th, expect to hear sets inspired by dub, acid, techno, psytrance, cosmic, future funk, italo disco and more.
We welcome all and embrace diversity, we keep the other “half” open for you, always.

DEEJAY NYE
Deejay Nye is a Filipino-British DJ from London. He co-founded Half East Records and hosts two monthly radio shows with Voices Radio and Loose.FM.
Inspired by sounds from all around the world, Deejay specialises in playing City Pop, Boogie, Disco, Soul, Future Funk, House and Hip Hop on both digital and analogue formats.
He was recently featured on Bristol Community FM as a guest for ‘SODACLUB with alrightBABES’ and in July, he will be performing alongside Vince Lam at the Nowadaze Festival in Bristol.
VINCE LAM
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Vince Lam is heavily influenced by the unique culture where East meets West, and is always reflected in his DJ sets.
With a strong passion in music, Vince Lam started his DJ journey in 2019 and has been playing at a number of events and venues since, including Oasis Festival in Hong Kong and Café 1001, Dalston Den, Box Park, Love Shack Village 512, Isla Ray, Yurt Café and Looking Glass Cocktail Club in the UK and monthly on Voices Radio.
House, Acid, Indie Dance and Dark Disco are Vince’s favourite – occasionally spinning Citypop and Italo Disco as well!
Moved to London lately, Vince has co-founded Half East Records, a DJ collective to advocate ESEA DJs and artists, and bring in the unique sounds from the East.
RAINDROGYNY
Raindrogyny is a DJ Born and raised in Taiwan, now a London based DJ. The name comes from the term ‘Androgyny’ meaning a mixture of all genders, who plays a fusion of music from Breakbeat, Jungle, Breakbeat to Tribal beat, Hip Hop and even K-Pop. The goal is to make everyone dance, like no one is looking. Now RAINDROGYNY has been playing with the group based on ESEA DJs named “Half East Record”, throwing gig monthly in south / east London like Deptford and Shoreditch. Also been resident on Loose.FM doing monthly mixtape broadcasting. Recently play as guest mix on HKCR(Hong Kong radio station), foundation.FM, threads radio etc. She also runs her own mixtape series on Mixcloud.
STELLA Z
Stella Z, a London-based producer and DJ from Fujian, China, is one of the six Future Proof artists granted by the legendary Rhythm Section label. As a producer, she is primarily known through her debut LP, 'In The Woods, Will Be Late,' released by Third Place Records in 2023, features effervescent sonic trips of downtempo and textures written in her mountainous seaside hometown. It has received acclaim and support from Ben UFO, Alexis Le-Tan, Cosmo Vitelli, Ciel, The Vinyl Factory, Mixmag Asia, Electronic Sounds, Groove.de, and more. As a DJ, Stella navigates the journey from organic, dubby sounds to hypnotic burners, tribal rhythms, and industrial beats while uncovering Asian dance gems. She channels her energy on intimate dance floors like Corsica Studios and has warmed up for artists such as Marcellus Pittman, Toshiki Ohta and Running Hot. Additionally, Stella showcases her collections in many all-night-long sets at iconic listening bars like Brilliant Corners.
TIRTA
TIRTA (She/They) is a multi genre DJ from SE London. They seamlessly blend together music from both the East and West, as they explore their mixed, British and Indonesian heritage. Their mixes mainly focus on sharing the talent of Indonesian music producers; while also celebrating the diversity of sounds from East and South East Asia, and its diaspora. Through their Workshop Radio residency show ‘Biru Sessions’, translated to ‘blue sessions’ they present the audience with the finest Indonesian traditional and contemporary tunes.
Co- organising Half East West - this is their third event endeavour in Bristol: in 2022 they co-founded KITA, a festival that celebrates global majority artists. The following year they also co-founded ‘Stain’, a queer club night focused on delivering quality underground left-field sounds to music lovers in Bristol.
TIRTA has performed in a number of venues around the city, to name a few: Strangebrew, Motion and Trinity Centre. Next month, they make their London club debut at Venue MOT, on the 8th June for MOUSETRAP: Resurge w/ Billy Nasty.
