Arts Mansion presents The Peoples Comedy night.
Join us for a The People's Comedy night featuring an all female line up including compere Fella, Opening acts are Jessie Johnson, Julia Stenton, Kitty Speeds and Eva Bindeman and the Headliner is Olga Koch!
Olga Koch is "Star of Mock The Week, QI, Late Night Mash & Richard Osman’s House of Games, Olga Koch does stand-up comedy onstage and creates cathartic performance art in the privacy of her own home. She was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2018 and for Best Show at Leicester Comedy Festival in 2020. She's adapted her show Fight for Radio 4 in 2019 and she’s currently working on a TV adaptation for FX in the US."
Your compere for the night is Fella - Fella is like a Catherine wheel that’s been let off in a tent. Or as Chortle would say, ‘she’s living proof of the power of energy, enthusiasm and charisma in comedy’.
Jessie Johnson:
Bath new act semi-finalist Jessie Johnson has been bringing top quality content across the UK for several years now. expect japes, jokes, and jocular hilarities from one of Newport's finest.
"her witty response and good use of comic timing put everyone in high spirits" - get the chance Wales
"[Performances] executed and delivered with conviction and creativity" -the state of the arts
"boundless energy" - Broadway Baby
Julia Stenton:
Oversharing oddball Julia Stenton talks property, puberty and power. Unexpected, witty and engaging Julia’s vivid imagery and acerbic storytelling will take you there. Funny women semi finalist 2019 and Stand Up for Cider finalist 2020 and host of comedy @thecraftyegg
Eva Bindeman:
Eva Bindeman is a Bristol-based comedian with a warm and whip-smart sense of humour.
2019 saw her reach Funny Women and So You Think You’re Funny semi finals, and 2021 has already seen her first solo show at Brighton Fringe. Eva, along side everyone else, think the less we say about 2020 the better.
The People's Comedy was launched in Stoke Croft, Bristol in 2018 with the aim of combatting a stand-up culture of acts not being paid for their craft, as well as platforming a socio-political comedy (something with a bit of a message/meaning behind it).
We've been proud to raise thousands of pounds over the last few years which has gone back into the pockets of the UK's most original, didactic and underrated comedians.
Our aim is to continue to grow and we're incredibly proud to be bringing a People's Comedy extravaganza show to the Ashton Court Mansion.
The night will consist of a hand-picked selection of the best talent. Act announcements will follow soon.
