Join Julia Turner and Rachael Dadd for immersive singing walks at the solstices among the ancient oaks, park lands and woods of Ashton Court. Learn simple seasonal songs by ear to sing together as we walk, designed to nourish us for whatever point we are at in the year. Come together to foster a deeper connection to all that is the non human world as we turn through the seasons.
The theme of our Yule walk is bringing light and warmth at the darkest point of the year as we reach the winter solstice. How can we cultivate joy and connection at this time as our ancestors have been doing since ancient times? Let's meet for meditative walking, singing and just being, held in the splendour of Ashton Court as we light candles and burn bay leaves.
All voices welcome. Singing walks are primarily aimed at adults but babes in arms and children who can walk a mile (recommended 7+) are also welcome.
Meet by Ashton Court Manor. See map https://what3words.com/scenes.papers.flows
PLEASE BRING a cup and a glass jar
And a hot drink OR small snack to share if you can. When we say small e.g. one shop bought flapjack - no need to bake a whole tray of cakes or anything...unless you really want to :) We'll share what we have among us all.
