Oppo Comedy is Bristol's legendary new material night. It's been run by generations of up and coming Bristol comics, from Russell Howard and Jon Richardson, all the way through to more recent breakout acts like Morgan Rees and Abi Clarke. We get all sorts of comedy legends and legends-to-be coming to try their new jokes, supported by a roster of local talent.
This week we have JAKE DONALDSON!
Visually impaired and perpetually anxious Newcastle comedian Jake Donaldson is known across the comedy circuit for his witty anecdotal standup which has seen him play some of the biggest and best comedy clubs in the UK.
A combination of storytelling and standup comedy, Jake's material often explores themes of mental health and masculinity through stories from his life as a partially sighted person, who grew up in the North East with a disabled, working-class Dad.
He's had acclaimed runs at the Edinburgh Fringe festival with his shows "Help! I'm Trapped In The Body Of An Adequate Comedian!" and "Neurotica" securing four-star reviews across the board.
All this for three quid in a gorgeous pub with delicious pizza and cocktails. Come on down!
