Romy will also be bringing along samples of recipes from the book to share!

Romy Gill MBE is an acclaimed Indian chef, food and travel writer, and broadcaster based in the south-west of England. With a passion for culinary excellence, she first gained recognition as the owner and head chef at Romy’s Kitchen in Thornbury. She has made numerous TV and radio appearances, as a regular on BBC1’s Ready Steady Cook and a host of other shows including James Martin’s Saturday Morning, Countryfile, Celebrity MasterChef, The Hairy Bikers’ Comfort Food, Celebrity Pointless, The One Show, Woman’s Hour and Today. Her cookery writing has been featured in many publications including BBC Food, the Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Times, and the New York Times. She has spoken and given cookery demonstrations at events and conferences across the world.
She is the author of the cookery books, Zaika – Vegan Recipes from India and the award-winning title, On The Himalayan Trail: Recipes and Stories from Kashmir to Ladakh.

Nikesh Shukla is an award-winning novelist and screenwriter. He is the author of three novels for adults, three YA novels, a middle-grade children’s novel, and two non-fiction titles – several of which have been nominated for prizes. He is also the editor of the bestselling and highly influential essay collection, The Good Immigrant, and co-editor of The Good Immigrant USA. He has written the 2023 Spider-Man India miniseries ‘Seva’ for Marvel, as well as numerous television projects. He won multiple awards for writing the short film, Two Dosas, and has worked in multiple writer’s rooms including on projects for Apple TV, Amazon Prime, HBO and Sky.
He is the co-founder of The Good Literary Agency and was one of TIME Magazine’s cultural leaders, Foreign Policy magazine’s 100 Global Thinkers and The Bookseller‘s 100 most influential people in publishing in 2016 and in 2017.
