Acoustic Night at Breaking Bread
See event details

A gig held at Breaking Bread on Sunday 25th October. The event starts at 18:00.

Cuculi Records presents an evening of acoustic alt-folk delights. We invite you to come and listen to some of Bristol's best upcoming artists in our sonic cocoon, hosted by songwriter Bethany M. Roberts.

BEA

BEA sounds like the watercolours she paints, all shapes and bold colours in memorable fragments of melody. She sings with her whole body, delivering her songs with a honeyed punch of powerful vulnerability. Balancing irresistibly catchy hooks with the deep, brief sobriety of old heartbreak country ballads, her songs stitch together enduring stories of her search for connection in these strange dystopian times.

Ember ft. Xander

Ember is a songstress with a message to share. She draws influence from a broad pool of sounds including soul, hip hop, folk and reggae, distilling them all into a clear, distinctive thread of songwriting that she delivers with poise and power. She'll be joined onstage by Xander for this stripped back acoustic set.

Hosted by Bethany M. Roberts

Bethany M. Roberts captures mood in song like sand in an hourglass, fluently shifting harmony and metre to match the image-rich poetry of her lyrics. Her voice carries elements of folksong honesty and choral clarity as she weaves melody lines over intricate fingerpicked banjo patterns.
