Eyebrow is a trumpet and drums duo based in Bristol, UK, formed in 2009. Its music evolves out of improvisations which are reassembled into structured pieces with an unexpectedly cinematic sweep, like journeys through slowly-changing landscapes.
Tonight's event celebrates the launch of Eyebrow's new album'Garden City', released on New York's 90&9 Records label, with a one-off performance in the intimate Brewery Theatre featuring live projections from internationallyacclaimed visual artist Kathy Hinde, and very special guests.
Paul Wigens (drums, percussion) has played with cultlegends Blurt and Grand Drive, and worked with Natacha Atlas, Viv Albertine (The Slits), Damo Suzuki (Can), and Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart), as well as physical theatre company Earthfall.
Pete Judge (trumpet, electronics) is trumpeter with BBC Jazz Award winners Get The Blessing, and multiinstrumentalist with acoustic trio Three Cane Whale, and has composed and performed for Kneehigh, Travelling Light, and Tobacco Factory Theatres.
Kathy Hinde (visual projections) is an audio-visual artist who has worked everywhere from Lithuania to a North Wales bird reserve, and collaborated with the likes of Joanna MacGregor, Maja Ratkje, Gabriel Prokofiev, Joby Burgess and Goldfrapp's Will Gregory.
Musical guests this evening are Jim Barr (Get The Blessing, Portishead) on baritone guitar and bass pedals, and Tim Allen (Bat For Lashes) on various to-be-revealed gizmos and gadgets.
