Soft Spot

Soft Spot at Bridge Farm

An event on Tuesday 3rd November. The event starts at 19:30.

Soft Spot is a platform to share words usually consumed alone. They can be sentimental, funny or nonsensical. The more experimental and creative you get, the better. It’s a no-pressure, no-judgment environment where you’re free to express whatever you want to, or simply listen. No experience needed. Use the platform as you please.

Bring anything: an email that touched you, a religious scripture, a queer love story, a family recipe, a poignant horoscope, a Reddit thread, a ramble from your notes app, a well-crafted text, a poem, a folk story, a shopping list... It's about connection, insight, sometimes silliness, and it's always about being heard.

If you’d like to share, add your name to the bowl at the start of the night; everyone who does will have a chance to read. Readers are chosen at random. Everyone is welcome, with a special invitation to LGBTQ+ communities, Black and Brown communities, and all other underrepresented groups.

- Please arrive between 7:00 and 7:15 pm so we can start at 7:30 pm.
- Readings happen inside the top barn (a map will be shared in an email on the day).
- The venue is accessible via a community-made ramp; however, there is no wheelchair accessible toilet (yet… Bridge Farm is trying to gather funding to build one).
- Though the event is 18+, if you have a baby under 2 years old and can’t find a babysitter, please bring them along. They are under your care at all times.
- Free tea and biscuits on tap (sometimes people bring yummy cakes to share). No alcohol please.

If the ticket cost is a barrier, please don’t hesitate to reach out at softspotarchive.com for a free ticket; no one is turned away due to lack of funds.
