SELL OUT WARNING
________________________________________________________
After a string of sold-out screenings in Bristol, we’ve added a show Rave On For The Avon and celebrate world rivers day!! Don’t miss out – book your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
________________________________________________________
A feature-length documentary film that follows a local community’s fight to save their bathing spot in unique, daring & distinctly Bristolian ways. There’s a wedding, drum’n’base, an inflatable turd, and a whole lot of cheesecake in this poignant reflection on innovative people’s fight for the natural world they cherish.
Too often, wild swimming is dismissed as a middle-class hobby. Rave On For The Avon cuts through that cliché with intimate, action-packed storytelling—complete with a killer soundtrack by local artists—and shows how creativity, humour and sheer stubbornness can turn muddy banks into stages for change. Through the lens of mental health, eco-feminism and drum’n’bass, the film reminds us of our need to connect with nature.
England is one of only two countries with a fully privatised water and sewage system—and just 14% of its rivers are deemed ecologically healthy. As raw-sewage pollution chokes the Avon, these swimmers prove that meaningful activism starts from the grassroots, and carries a lesson for us all.
After Party: 8:30pm to 11:30pm - Join us at our Afterparty where we will be dancing with the Aquarium's fishes. There will be an exhibition and a very special first appearance from our fierce and glamorous river-spirit puppet. Get a discount code after purchasing a ticket.
