Australian-born Shanah Rivers has been facilitating African grief rituals around Europe, Australia and London for the last 12 years. She has been working with grief for many years, both in private practice and in group settings.

Participants in her grief rituals have said that the way she is able to embody grief, both for herself and others, is remarkable and that she is akin to what some cultures call a ‘grief carrier’.

In this workshop Shanah will introduce you to a traditional grieving ritual. She will grieve for those who are unable to grieve and, in this safe space, will move others to let out their own grief through song, movement and dance.

In Australia, Shanah took part in sacred Aboriginal ceremonies and is initiated into The Spirit of the Earth Medicine Society. Shana holds a diploma in Kinesiology and is trained in Lomi Lomi massage and Wu Tao Dance.

“Anyone who longs to empty out their well of grief and sorrow should reach out to Shanah Rivers.” – Malidoma Patrice Some, PhD, West African elder, teacher and author.

This is a free event but you’ll need a ticket to attend.
