Designing Death: A Talk

In this free talk, Moth will share some of their key projects from the past seven years which investigate the contribution that design can make to end of life experiences. There will be a Q&A and discussion around core themes such as the symbols of death; still life (the collection and curation of things); and how hope is not a plan (digital legacy and end of life choices). They’ll also consider how food and funeral feasting can positively contribute to grief and mourning.

Moth has worked with diverse partners from medics and artists to philosophers and historians to create work that challenges the attitudes and conventions surrounding death and dying. They are also using memento mori to stage a visual arts trail around Bristol as part of the Festival, see its separate entry.
