A
event
held at Bristol Beacon Foyer
on Saturday 16th May. The event starts at 12:00.
This event is part of Good Grief Bristol, A Festival of Love and Loss. 11-17 May 2020 (https://goodgriefbristol.com/).
Gary Andrews is a professional artist who lost his wife suddenly to sepsis in 2017. His Doodle-a-Day illustrations documenting his journey through the grief went viral online a year later, but have never before been exhibited. These poignant and moving moments, captured on paper as he moves through his grief, are being exhibited at the Central Library during the festival.
As part of Good Grief, Bristol, Gary is giving this talk about the funny side of grief and solo parenting, illustrated with drawings from his diary. He's also facilitating a separate workshop on self-counselling through art. If you can’t make this talk or Gary's workshop, be sure to view his wonderful, emotive and utterly relatable Doodle-a-Day exhibition.
Duration: 45 minutes
Concessions are available for those under 18; aged 65 or older; students with valid ID; unwaged people; and people with disabilities. Registered carers are free when accompanying a ticket holder (please contact Good Grief to arrange).
