Back in the mid-1990s Montreal based collective The Dears cemented themselves at the heart of the then-emerging Canadian indie rock renaissance. Led by composer, musician and lead singer Murray A. Lightburn, The Dears’ orchestral, dark pop sound and dramatic live shows caught the attention of the globe with NME hailing them “the best new band in the world”. Lightburn, the band’s principal songwriter, now embarks on a solo project with the release of his second album ‘Here Me Out’ that, while musically distinct, builds on his association with The Dears to connect with a new fanbase.
