As part of the centenary of the life of American writer James Baldwin, Lyra Festival presents a conversation with some of Bristol's leading Black Writers, including Roger Griffith, Edson Burton and Sukina Noor.

Baldwin found creative freedom in Europe far away from America's peculiar brand of racism. Do today’s Black writers find similar opportunities for freedom in travel or are they pursued by narratives of race in our increasingly connected world? Join these poets for discussions and readings on the challenges and freedoms of travelling as a Black creative.
