Nervio Cosmico - Diaspora Festival at Bristol Cathedral's Chapter House
See event details

A event on Saturday 4th May. The event starts at 16:00.

Nervio Cosmico is a Bristol-based duo formed in 2021 by Chilean composer Daniel Linker and Italian sound artist Matteo Amadio. We combine live acoustic performance with synthetic sound and electronics to express a spiritual approach to nature in which life is understood as a single self-conscious entity.

Inspired by rituals belonging to a shamanic tradition from the Amazon and traditional musical practices from the South American Andes, we aim to immerse the listener into a shamanic journey, with its episodes of catharsis and states of blissfulness. We handcraft and play ceremonial clay instruments from ancient South America as well as shamanic instruments from the Amazon. Our use of electronics provides the infrastructure for building the live piece and contributes with generative synthetic sound evoking expanded states of consciousness.

Please bring your own mat and/or blanket so you can get comfortable and relax.

We are in a campaign to raise funds for making our first album, we would be very grateful for your support towards our project!

Children under 7 don't need to book a ticket.

This event is part of DIASPORA! - a new arts festival for Bristol and the South West, presented by the Diverse Artists Network (DAN). Taking place this year for the very first time, 3-6 May 2024, this four-day, multi-venue celebration will platform and showcase the wide variety of talent reflected in the region’s underrepresented cultural communities.
