Bristol Choral Society returns at last to Bristol Cathedral, for this magical and absorbing concert, featuring the first live performance of Elizabeth Poston’s Festal ‘Te Deum’ since it was commissioned in the 1950s. The concert also includes an anthem by Gerald Finzi, and a rare performance of Imogen Holst’s psalms, as well as her father Gustav’s compositions, and culminates with Vaughan Williams’ five mystical songs, settings of poems by seventeenth century poet George Herbert, featuring the renowned baritone soloist Freddie Long.
