Ode a Paz - Dance for Peace at Bristol Commonwealth Society

A event on Thursday 16th October. The event starts at 19:30.

In the 1980s, Mozambique was torn apart by a civil war fuelled by apartheid.

Dance for Peace is a dance choreography created by The National Dance Company of Mozambique. It was part of the voter education programme for the first elections that Mozambique ever held - 1994.

Dance is a form of communication that everyone understands and Ode a Paz tells the story of the war, the ceasefire, training in the forthcoming first ever election through their choreography Ode a Paz. This was used for voter education throughout Mozambique.
