Big Naturals are a bass and drums two piece featuring Jesse Webb on drums and the bass talents of Gareth Turner, whose first band Lillydamwhite was Rockets first release back in 1998 (a split 7 with The Heads). Since Lillydamwhite Gareth has played in many projects, including bass duties in Dale Crover from Melvins side project, Porn. Big Naturals have an ongoing series of collaborations with The Heads called'Rituals' (which has seen three great releases of improv/kraut/noise) and are currently putting the final touches to their very long overdue debut album.
Venue Review 2010
"Jesse drums like Dave Grohl after a weekend drinking Bitches Brew, while bassist Gareth's fancy fretwork is driven home by a trio of Marshall stacks. They occasionally slumber into hard-rock clich s, but at their best they're pulverising and hypnotic. "
"Model Boat are a fairly new UK band generally seen vomiting from car windows on motorways between Bristol, London and Brighton. Their debut EP (self-titled) was released this year. They have pulled off brutal, flashy, jealousy-inducing performances whenever I have seen them, and between them generate more energy and charisma and most rock bands ten years their junior. Their music recalls US rock aristocracy such as The Jesus Lizard, The Van Pelt, Big Black and Sonic Youth, but is solidly British in personality, with wafts of Leeds veterans Bilge Pump, The Cure and The Unit Ama hanging around them. Each member is almost obsessively instrument-competent and focussed, all of which feads into their status an organic, exhilarating truck-smash of a band. Which is to say, they are really fucking good. "
dynamic duo now turned power trio. it's all about tone. for the time being totally instrumentalists. you got to check these guys out they rock well good. plus you can make up your own lyrics to all their catchy hooks. strong sounds ahead.
LOSH B OS were too evil for musickind. banished to the centre of an icelandic volcano for centuries til lloyd grossman discovered, christened and championed them after seeing the"losh" open for This Heat sometime in the early 80's . somewhere between the Cure's Pornography and Big Black's songs about fucking Losh b os lurk and sulk like seductive fuzzfucks.
