The Improv Lab at Bristol Improv Theatre
See event details

A event on Saturday 28th March. The event starts at 14:00.

Get experimental with The Improv Lab! A friendly afternoon of scratch performances featuring a variety of new and developing ideas from Bristol’s improv scene.

Programmed by volunteers, The Improv Lab aims to foster a sense of community and peer support for developing improvised performance work in Bristol.

What to expect:

Each Lab features groups showcasing new shows, different formats, changes to existing shows, or simply getting more practice in front of an audience. Audience members and other acts are encouraged to provide valuable feedback and help shape the shows' futures.

The Improv Lab is hosted in the bar space of the Bristol Improv Theatre. The bar will be open, so come on in and enjoy a hot or cold drink with an eclectic afternoon of shows for a fiver (or pay what you decide) AND an improv jam where you can join in.

Doors open at 14:00, and the first show will begin at 14:20. Upon arrival, please proceed directly to the bar and take a seat. Groups may be warming up at the back of the room before the show and during the interval.

If you have a show you would like to bring to the Lab, or if you'd like to get involved as a cast member, director, photographer, or host, please email [email protected] or with details about the show. To be selected, the majority of the show must involve improvisation.

Please note: Unfortunately, the venue does not have step-free access, which may be inaccessible for individuals with limited mobility. (6 steps up to the building and 16 steps down into the bar.)
