Hitchcock and Queer Villainy: Rope PG 5.00pm

Hitchcock and Queer Villainy: Rope PG 5.00pm at Bristol Mega Screen

An event on Sunday 15th November. The event starts at 17:00.

Project the Dolls presents a double bill of Hitchcock classics on the biggest screen in Bristol! The words "queer" and "camp" don't necessarily come to mind when one thinks of Alfred Hitchcock. However, on closer inspection of the master's filmography, you'd be surprised. Our double bill presentation of Rope (1948) and Rebecca (1940) highlights some of the most iconic entrants in Hitch's canon of queer-coded villains, namely the murderous homosexual couple, Brandon (John Dall) and Phillip (Farley Granger), and the sapphic spectre Mrs Danvers. Come along for a queer perspective on the thrillers of one of the most influential directors of the 20th century. Both films will be introduced by guest speakers. We can't wait to talk queer villains with you at the bar!
