This year, we are launching the festival with the world premiere of The Big Picture – a feature documentary from award-winning filmmaker Arthur Cauty – uncovers the untold story of the Bristol IMAX, a state-of-the-art cinema deserted in the heart of the city for over a decade. Once a symbol of the future, it now serves as the epicenter of a grassroots community cinema movement driven by DIY culture and punk ethos – now known as Bristol Megascreen.

Arthur Cauty is a multi award-winning filmmaker based in Bristol. Cauty’s films have earned numerous Vimeo Staff Picks, official selections for BAFTA & Academy Award qualifying film festivals Raindance, Encounters, Aesthetica, Indy Shorts, Odense & Cleveland International Film Festivals, as well as features in Director’s Notes, Film Shortage, National Geographic, BBC & Huffington Post. He won first prize in the documentary category at My RØDE Reel, and a People's Choice Award at the Musicbed Reopen Challenge.
