Jazz Propelled by Two Drummers - we're really pleased to welcome Tony Orrell's powerhouse of a band back to the club. Big Top have been a favourite at Fringe Jazz since they made their debut back in 2017. And for tonight's special version of the band we have a legend of the Bristol Music Scene, the brilliant JOHN BAGGOTT taking over the Keyboard duties along with the incomparable Jake McMurchie up front on tenor, Riaan Vosloo on bass and then the mind-boggling percussive duo of Matt Brown and Tony Orrell on drums and percussion.

A Big Top gig is an extraordinary journey through the music of William Parker, Johnny Dyani, Keith Tippett, Ornette Coleman and superb original compositions by Riaan Vosloo. Not to be missed.

JOHN BAGGOTT is a regular collaborator, writer and performer with seminal Bristol bands Massive Attack and Portishead and has composed and recorded Grammy nominated albums with Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation.

Fans of Dan Moore do not need to worry he has not left the band, he just happens to be on tour in Australia, and we couldn't stretch to the airfare to get him home, but he will be back at the club later this year.
