Raquel Meseguer Zafe and Lily Green present the launch of a new guide to resting in the city published by No Bindings.
The booklet is a guide to resting in our city, with stories and principles that support the subversive act of lying down in public and the empathic act of connecting with those whose voices we don’t usually hear.
Raquel Meseguer Zafe has been collecting stories about people’s attempt to rest in public since 2017. At first she thought she might belong to a small crew of people who need to rest throughout the day to manage pain or fatigue. Over two hundred and fifty stories later, it turns out it’s a pretty big crew.
With stories by local artists and conversations with chronically-ill artists from across the UK and Europe, the booklet invites you to see the city differently and to confront the taboos that prevent us from resting, even when we really need to.
Lily Green & Raquel Meseguer Zafe will give a short talk.
Wine & refreshments provided. Admission is free and attendees can purchase a copy of the booklet and accompanying audio episodes for £8.
