Something Borrowed, Something Blue — Session Five: Awe at Bristol Wood Recycling Project

A event on Thursday 3rd September. The event starts at 18:00.

Something Borrowed, Something Blue is a poetry event series.

This isn’t an open mic or a circle-jerk; it's a monthly meeting place to read poetry, and discuss writing practice and performance. Each session we'll broadly discuss two questions: how and why do we write?

We'll follow a loose structure of both readings and discussion. Participants are encouraged to perform both their "borrowed" texts, i.e. poetry/prose from an existing writer, as well as a text of their own/something they are currently working on (the "something blue").

Following this, we will consider these texts as a group and discuss the session’s theme.

"Awe” is this month’s theme. Something of a Pandora’s box, awe contains much within three letters. It can invoke the breaking dawn (not the Twilight one... unless?) just as readily as it can an atom bomb. Join us for a dive into reverence, bafflement, fear, sublimity, faith, and whatever else this small and potent word conjures up. The theme isn't stringent or prescriptive; whatever it brings up for you is welcome. The more variety the merrier!

Funds raised from tickets will be donated to @dandeliondiy. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Please just get in touch if you have any questions at all :)
