The Brunswick Club

The Brunswick Club

Artist-led studio with a peerless programme of experimental music, sound and film in Brist

This old Working Men's Club complete with working skittle alley and drab carpets has hosted some of the best live music in Bristol over the past 18 months. The final chapter of Howling Owls' New Year New Noise series saw local legends Giant Swan carried out the room by an ecstatic home crowd (still dazed from seeing Moor Mother and Mica Levi amongst others).

Taken over by a co-op of arts groups comprising experimental sound and film collective BEEF, international performance and theatre group Residence and DIY art rabble, CHAMP. Between them they host regular workshops on everything from podcasting to VHS decay, psychedelic 16mm film and sci-fi choirs.

Truly, one of Bristol most chaotic, best-loved and soon-to-be most-missed spaces.
