A event held at Cafe Kino on Friday 21st August. The event starts at 19:30.
Bristol Laptop Orchestra (BLO) is a collective that uses code, custom software, and digital interfaces to build improvised, intense, chaotic pieces in real time (sometimes beautiful drone soundscapes). It was born out of Bristol’s underground and experimental scene; it can be described as a high-tech jam session.
This workshop (just a £5, including gig) is an opportunity to understand different approaches to music making through laptops (or similar devices). Members of BLO will expose their ‘tricks’ and gadgets.
The workshop will take place in the cafe itself, open to all level of musicians, improvisers, creatives or curious. It is an open space to push the edges of sound (as well as other media), and connect to likeminded creatives. Come and just listen, interact or even bring your laptop.

The night will follow as:
- BLO - live set
- Arthur & Flynn come & play "Guitar Music" (from Manchester) - ‘Guitar music’ is a live situation primarily involving Flynn, Arthur, a room, speakers, ears, strumming, plucking, silence, rubbing, bowing, scraping, reflections, bodies, air and potentially other things.
