The Cradle is the musical project of Paco Cathcart. Born
and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Cathcart has been a fixture in
the New York underground for a decade now, having cut
their performance teeth at house shows and DIY strongholds
like The Glove, Palisades, Chaos Computer, Silent Barn, etc.
Often the lone "singer-songwriter"on bills featuring the less
traditional- performance artists, noise musicians, puppeteers,
clowns- Cathcart's eclectic recorded output and performance
style reflects their locality in a thriving experimental arts scene,
as well as their root interests in folk music, story-telling, history
and poetry. Cathcart has something like 50 releases out on
cassette, vinyl, CD, and streaming, self-released and on myriad
indie labels.
Frances Chang is a musical artist and poet from New York. Her
songs contain the meandering openness of a new-age record,
the theatrical romanticism of a crooner ballad, and often stop
and start with no reverence to metronomic time. She released
her second LP "Psychedelic Anxiety" (Ramp Local) in Feb.
Bandcamp Daily listed the album as best of Winter 2024,
writing, "Chang understands that any public excavation of
a personal experience is by nature something of a magic
trick and leans into the illusion, creating music that feels
meticulously artful even in its messiest moments."
Andrea Schiavelli is a L.A. born/NYC based songwriter and
multi-instrumentalist. Their live project - Eyes of Love, brings
together some of NYC’s most skilled underground musicians
in pop, punk and instrumental arrangements + has been
championed by Paste Magazine amongst others. Schiavelli
has also composed for film / released several bedroom or not
recordings under their own name and been a member of
bands Nude Beach and Punks on Mars. In 2017 they featured
in ‘Magic Island’ a short doc about their father - actor Vincent
Shiavelli
